sometimes you start to miss something that hasnt been in your life - whether it be for a short time or not - and you feel the need to remember it. and sometimes, if youre really passionate about it, you wanna share that with other people - whether you know them or not.

this is that episode, my friends. chicagos alternative - Q101.1 - was the only alternative station chicagos ever had (i wont consider 94.7s short-lived run 'alternative' as that took a heavier edge and featured more hard rock / nu-metal bands), in my opinion. and, if you ask me, one of the biggest cities in america should have at LEAST one alternative station. however, we dont. and, while it could be argued that fm radio is a thing of the past, id like to think that people still enjoy personal interaction in between songs - some form of entertainment.

regardless - i love Q101, no matter how much rem or cypress hill they played. they were, and always will be, the best alternative station to me. as a result, this is me reliving some of the great music that theyd play.

busy busy show tonite, you guys. 18 tracks - cant remember the last time i did that.. anyways, i was feeling 90s, but not too mainstream 90s.. i mean, theres bush, weezer, green day, etc - but theres not 'machinehead', 'buddy holly' or 'basket case' or anything like that.. i mixed in some b-sides from popular bands with good songs by not-so-popular bands.. hopefully ill have time to ready a theme-themed kind of show - not like the halloween one, or christmas one, but an overall actual 'set-in-a-different-time' kind of theme.. we'll see how it goes in preperation.. if i dont think ill be able to pull it off (its gonna take a shit-ton of effects to do live), then ill scrap it and do a regular show..

feeling alright about my show nowadays.. think the intros cool, despite its cheese-factor. the music in my talk breaks seems to work well (MUCH better than that eno weird shit i WAS using).. the musics good, etc etc. i think having the one show a week is better for the overall show that i do. not as much pressure to have a specific day for a specific show and whatnot. ive just gotta stop saying 'uhhh' so much, and start talking TO the listener, instead of AT the listener..

i get it, man. im still learnin. think im doin alright. all the reviews i get say that ive got a voice for radio, which is nice. ive always hated my voice, but ive always heard its 'nice'.. which is good, i guess. even if i end up in radio one day, i guess ive got a voice that could be in between songs on an fm station, or delivering news on an am station, which is cool. im just happy to be doing what i love, now, with this show.

and, really, without listeners, ive got nothin. so, thank you to all of you who DO listen.. even if youre in a foreign country & cant read any of this. thank you.

hey all. its now november. hope everyones halloween was awesome & fun, while being safe and full of razorblade-less candies. still sick, i pretty much spent all day sleeping and popping sick meds. but, enough about me, lets get back to halloween! this show is obviously halloween-themed, but not in the 'saw movies are scary, scary movies are watched around halloween, ill play some crazy metal with spooky titles to make it seem like its halloween based' kind of way.. i went with some classics, some perfectly fitting, and some that just deserve to be on there. so, i hope you like it and listen to it every halloween from now until the day you die. :blinks:.. which, yknow, i hope is *decades* away..
